Brief
Earth Design Studios was commissioned to create the identify for a new rehearsal studios, The Rock and Roll Circus, based in Leeds. The name takes inspiration from the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus in the 60s and they wanted the branding to be inspired by old circus posters.
Approach
The obvious starting point was to reference the ornate nature and bright colours of many classic poster designs. We also referenced the Rolling Stones 1968 concert as the inspiration behind the name and decided to link back to it with a red and gold colour scheme.
We wanted to have elements of the branding that could be applied to various different pieces of Rock and Roll Circus related material. Along with the logo, the ornate section at the top of the design and the border are used extensively in the various designs that have been produced to provide an additional bit of brand reinforcement.
Result
Our design work provided a solid and distinct brand for the studio that has allowed it to become one of the most successful and popular in Leeds.
